ALMA is an independent student project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by the University of Illinois. The university’s names, marks, and logos belong to the university and are used here only to describe what the site answers questions about.
It is an AI that reads Illinois’s own public web pages and answers questions from them, with the page it used linked under every answer. When the pages do not cover a question, it says so. It cannot see anyone’s records, accounts, applications, or grades.
Nothing here is legal, medical, immigration, financial, or academic advice, and no answer is a decision made for you. University pages change, deadlines move, and prices change. Before you act on anything you read here, check the linked page and confirm with the office that owns it. Answers about classes, majors, and schedules are suggestions to bring to your advisor, not registration decisions.
Grade distributions come from public records the university registrar publishes. They are history, not predictions, and they describe sections, not people.ALMA reports the numbers and does not add opinions about any named instructor.
No accounts, no sign-in, no tracking across sites. Questions are logged without your name or identity so gaps in the pages can be found and fixed; emails, phone numbers, and ID-shaped numbers typed into a question are masked before anything is stored. Answers about a document you attach are never stored. Your network address is used only to limit abuse and is not kept with your questions. If you give an email on the welcome card, it is used only for occasional Illinois updates from this project and is never sold or shared; send a tip from any answer to have it removed. Class reports you submit are anonymous, reviewed by a person, and only ever used in aggregate.
Answers quote short excerpts from public university pages and always link to the source. If you run one of those pages and want it excluded, or you believe something here is wrong, say so in the tip box under any answer. A person reads every tip.
